“Hello?” said a boy when I answered my cell phone, just after pulling out of carpool line.
I passed the phone back to my nine year old.
“Hello?” he mumbled, surprised, because he never gets phone calls.
Then a huge smile.
“Okay. I’ll meet you in the Imagination Center. Right now?”
He shut his eyes. “Okay. Bye.” Still smiling.
He handed me the phone without hanging up.
Not another word until we were home.
When he opened his eyes again, I asked, “What was that?”
“Nothing.” And the biggest grin you’ve ever seen.
